Punción aspiración con aguja fina (PAAF) en la región cérvico-facial. Resultados de una serie.

    Los resultados del examen citológico de 126 Punciones Aspiración con Aguja Fina (PAAF) en pacientes con tumoraciones cervicales (excluyendo tiroides y glándulas salivales) se compararon con el informe histopatológico y bacteriológico para establecer su valor diagnóstico.

    Los resultados señalan que la Sensibilidad fue del 90,21 %, y la Especificidad del 100%. La concordancia entre diagnóstico citológico e histopatológico fue del 92,85%.

    The resuits of cytologycal examination of 126 specimens taken by fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) from patients with tumour masses in the neck (exciuding the salivary and thyroid glands) were compared with the results of histopathological and bacteriological examination of the surgical specimens obtained in order to assess the correlation between the techniques.

    The results were as foilows Sensitivity 90,21 %, Specificity 100%. The correlation between cytology and histopatology was 92,85%.
