  • The scientific journals sector is highly dynamic andmultifaceted, leading to numerous international studies.Notably, the STM report, a triennial publication, tracksthe evolution of this sector globally. Commissioned by theSTM (International Association of Scientific, Technical andMedical Publishers), the report reflects the interests ofboth commercial and open access scientific publishers[1].The 2022 edition, analyzing data from 2019 to 2021,titled “2021 STM Report: Global Research Trends andTransformation in Open Access Publishing,” providesan in-depth overview of the scientific and academicpublication market. It highlights significant growth drivenby Open Access (OA) publishers and examines variationsacross different global markets [2]
