    RESUMEN El artículo presenta un análisis de la comunicación en relación con la actividad profesional que desarrollan los profesores universitarios. En este sentido, se sistematizan obras y autores cubanos y foráneos de referencia en el tema. El análisis de la comunicación tiene un enfoque desde lo psicopedagógico y lo lingüístico, para develar características esenciales, funciones y formas que deben llevarse a la práctica en contextos de educación superior: actividades educativas, académicas, laborales, investigativas y extensionistas. También se enriquece el material con el tratamiento y la precisión de categorías tales como “educación superior” y “contextos de educación superior”.

    ABSTRACT The article presents an analysis of the communication relating to the professional activity that the university professors, for it develop they systematize works and authors Cubans and referential foreigners in the theme, you focus besides the analysis of the communication from the psicopedagic and what's linguistic to unveil essential characteristics, shows and forms that must be taken to the pilot in contexts of higher education in the educational activities, academicians, laboral, investigating and extensionist. Also the article with the treatment and precision of categories are enriched such like the higher education and the contexts of higher education.
