Resumen de Avanço da fronteira agrícola em direção à Amazônia: processos de espoliação no Vale Xingu-Araguaia (Mato Grosso – Brasil)

  This paper focuses on understanding the new ways of organizing society and emerging relations, where processes involving the implementation and articulation of modern activities are being established under the control of the actors, signifying new possibilities for the use of the territory in the Xingu-Araguaia Valley of Mato Grosso. In this sense, it is essential to understand the advance of the agricultural frontier in this region. This article is divided into three parts: the first deals with the process of land concentration in Mato Grosso's XinguAraguaia Valley, with an emphasis on land distribution during the period of the military dictatorship; the second analyzes the advance of the agricultural frontier since the 2000s, focusing on the rates of socio-environmental conflicts, deforestation and the advance of livestock and soy; the third reports on the presence of foreign agents in the region.

  O presente trabalho está voltado para a apreensão das novas formas de organização da sociedade e das relações emergentes, onde vão se instituindo processos que envolvem a implantação e a articulação de atividades modernas, sob o domínio dos atores, significando novas possibilidades de uso do território no Vale do Xingu-Araguaia mato-grossense. Nesse sentido, torna-se fundamental compreender o avanço da fronteira agrícola nesta região. O presente artigo divide-se em três partes: a primeira trata do processo de concentração da terra no Vale Xingu-Araguaia mato-grossense, com ênfase na distribuição de terra no período da ditadura militar; a segunda analisa o avanço da fronteira agrícola a partir dos anos 2000, enfocando nos índices de conflitos socioambientais, de desmatamento e de avanço da pecuária e da soja; a terceira relata a presença dos agentes estrangeiros na região.
