Resumen de Migración y violencia en Ciudad Juárez, México: frente a los Estados Unidos de América

La investigación se centra en profundizar en el espacio creado por la violencia y la migración que culmina su vivencia en Ciudad Juárez, en el Estado de Chihuahua de México. Este fenómeno se articula en la forma de una serie de espacios institucionales y civiles de atención y de acogida, que a su vez convive con otro irregular en el que se crea una red de tráfico de personas que aspiran a cruzar la frontera, y que se vincula con el crimen organizado. La investigación tiene por objetivo presentar este escenario, con la idea de mostrar cómo esta realidad, creciente y cada vez más violenta, genera un doble proceso, legal e ilegal, para darle recorrido. El trabajo se presenta mediante un análisis documental y estadístico de las tendencias en la región, que se amplía con una lectura periodística local, para, en un segundo orden de cosas, complementar la investigación con un espacio de entrevistas, con las que se contrasta y amplía el problema. Y, finalmente, se reflexiona en cómo esta situación incide en el desarrollo de la ciudad, y en la incomprensión que recibe a nivel internacional.

The research focuses on delving into the space created by violence and migration that culminates in Ciudad Juárez, in the State of Chihuahua, Mexico. This phenomenon is articulated in the form of a series of institutional and civil spaces for care and reception, which in turn coexist with another irregular one in which a network of human trafficking is created for those who aspire to cross the border, and which is linked to organized crime. The research aims to present this scenario, with the idea of showing how this growing and increasingly violent reality generates a double process, legal and illegal, to give it direction. The work is presented through a documentary and statistical analysis of the trends in the region, which is expanded with a reading of local journalism, to, in a second order of things, complement the research with a space for interviews, with which the problem is contrasted and expanded. Finally, the article discusses how this situation affects the development of the city, and the lack of understanding it receives at an international level.
