Evaluación de la contaminación por hidrocarburos de la bahía de Santiago de Cuba

    La bahía de Santiago de Cuba ha sido objeto de numerosas investigaciones que abordan la contaminación por hidrocarburos, pero no han reportado cuantitativamente el nivel de contaminación de la misma. Por lo que el objetivo de esta investigación es evaluar la concentración de hidrocarburos en muestras de agua de la bahía de Santiago de Cuba a partir de su determinación química por el método de Partición gravimétrico. Se efectuaron varios muestreos en dos etapas: la primera en los meses de abril y mayo de 2013; la segunda etapa en marzo y abril de 2014. Se estudió el agua de mar en nueve estaciones de la bahía y dos efluentes de fuentes identificadas como contaminantes. Resultando que el nivel de contaminación es elevado para todas las estaciones y los valores de concentración de hidrocarburos totales, grasas y aceites no cumplen con lo establecido en las Normas Cubanas.

    The bay of Santiago from Cuba has been object of numerous investigations, where the contamination is approached by hydrocarbons, but it is not reported the level of contamination of the same one quantitatively. For what the objective of this research is to evaluate the concentration of hydrocarbons in samples of water of the bay of Santiago de Cuba starting from its chemical determination for the method of Partition Gravimeter. Several samplings were made, in two stages, the first one in the months of April and May of 2013. The second stage in March and April of 2014. The seawater was studied in nine stations of the bay and two effluents of identified sources as pollutants. Being that, the level of contamination is high for all the stations and the values of concentration of total hydrocarbons, fats and oils don't fulfill that settled down in the Cuban Norms.
