    El mito de Medusa ha sido reinterpretado y reversionado en múltiples ocasiones desde su origen. En los últimos años, Medusa ha pasado de ser un monstruo con serpientes en la cabeza y capaz de petrificar con su mirada a utilizarse como un icono feminista que representa la lucha contra el patriarcado. El presente artículo consiste en un análisis traductológico realizado en virtud de un hipotético encargo de traducción de la novela de ficción Stone Blind (2022) de Natalie Haynes, una reescritura en inglés de la historia del personaje mitológico de Medusa. En primer lugar, se presentan una serie de consideraciones teóricas sobre las reescrituras femeninas de la tradición clásica, el mito de Medusa, el contexto de la obra y la investigación acerca de esta y su autora. Tras dicha sección, se aporta el pertinente análisis traductológico de los problemas de traducción encontrados junto con las teorías y técnicas usadas para resolverlos. Finalmente, se muestra una conclusión crítica acerca de los resultados obtenidos.

    Since its origin, the myth of Medusa has been reinterpreted on many occasions. In recent years, Medusa has gone from being a monster with snakes on her head and capable of petrifying with her gaze to being used as a feminist icon representing the struggle against patriarchy.This article consists of a translation analysis of a hypothetical translation project of the fictional novel Stone Blind(2022) written by Natalie Haynes, an English retelling of the story of the mythological character Medusa. The article begins with a series of theoretical considerations on female retellings of classical tradition, the myth of Medusa, the context of the work, and the research on the novel and its author. This section is followed by the analysis of the translation problems encountered and the theories and techniques used to solve them. Finally, a critical conclusion on the results is presented
