  • Resumen
    • Since the two first decades of this century, there has been an increasing amount of literature on transmedia storytelling, especially in fiction, either in movies or TV shows. However, the role of music in this transmedia process has been barely investigated in Spanish music cinema. Thus, this chapter examines through a case study the significance of music in the transmedia storytelling process and provides an opportunity to advance our knowledge of how music expands the narrative of a film across multiple platforms. To that end, the musical film Holy Camp! (Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, 2017), one of the most notable transmedia phenomena in 21st-century Spanish cinema, will be analysed from a transmedia perspective. Even though the Holy Camp! film was not created from a transmedia mentality to expand the story across different texts and platforms, this study shows the relevance of songs to spread the plot across multiple platforms by enhancing the evolving identity and expanding the entertainment experience.
