    O artigo propõe uma reflexão sobre a pluralidade dos tempos da escravidão antiga e da escravidão moderna, a partir do diálogo entre os modelos teóricos do Sistema Escravista Mediterrânico, dos Sistemas Atlânticos e da Segunda Escravidão. Em primeiro lugar, esse artigo revisita a interpretação de Fábio Duarte Joly e José Ernesto Knust sobre as temporalidades da escravidão mediterrânica à luz das perspectivas teóricas e metodológicas da historiografia da escravidão atlântica, com destaque para os estudos de Dale Tomich e Rafael Marquese. O principal objetivo desse texto consiste em expandir o debate proposto por Joly e Knust de modo a incluir as contribuições recentes da historiografia sobre as dimensões políticas, jurídicas e ideológicas da Segunda Escravidão (Atlântica) e avaliar sua interface com a Segunda Escravidão Mediterrânica.

    This article proposes a reflection on the plurality of the times of ancient and modern slavery, based on the dialogue between the theoretical models of the Mediterranean Slavery System, the Atlantic Systems and the Second Slavery. First, this article revisits the interpretation of Fábio Duarte Joly and José Ernesto Knust on the temporalities of Mediterranean slavery in light of the theoretical and methodological perspectives of the historiography of Atlantic slavery, with emphasis on the studies of Dale Tomich and Rafael Marquese. The main objective of this text is to expand the debate proposed by Joly and Knust in order to include the recent contributions of historiography on the political, legal and ideological dimensions of the Second (Atlantic) Slavery and to evaluate its interface with the Second Mediterranean Slavery.
