  • Southern reported Sternaspis costata in Chilika Lake (formerly Chilka) in 1921 in low salinity conditions (0–1‰); however, this record was regarded doubtful after being found in very low salinity and the presence of some subtle morphological differences. Herein, we reported the presence of Sternaspis costata in Parangipettai, India, and the morphological description is included.
