    El artículo revisa el concepto de desarrollo desde una interpretación política. El objetivo es cuestionar algunas concepciones predominantes sobre el tema y destacar cómo América Latina ha logrado conformar un pensamiento propio, abierto y en permanente superación, acerca del desarrollo. Una perspectiva situada, pensada desde la realidad regional y un enfoque amplio, que evita reducir el desafío del desarrollo a una sola dimensión de lo real generando, de ese modo, valiosos aportes para la interpretación y la transformación de la realidad regional.

    The article reviews the concept of development from a political interpretation. The objective is to inquiry some predominant conceptions on the issue and highlight how Latin America could shape a proper, open thought and in permanent improvement, about the development. A situated, perspective, thought from the regional reality with a comprehensive approach, which avoids reducing the challenge of development to a single dimension of the real generating, thus, valuable contributions to the interpretation and the transformation of the regional reality
