    Durante la visita de Alejandro y Hefestión a la tienda de las mujeres de Darío III tras Issos, las fuentes afirman que ambos iban vestidos igual. A partir del análisis de diversas informaciones relativas a rituales de sustitución del rey en las tradiciones del Próximo Oriente antiguo, este trabajo pretende llamar la atención sobre ciertas coincidencias y aspectos relacionados con estos rituales y el papel de Hefestión como doble del rey ante las mujeres de la realeza persa.

    During the visit of Alexander and Hephaestion to the women's tent of Darius III after Issus, the sources state that both were dressed alike. Based on the analysis of various information concerning rituals of king substitution in ancient Near Eastern traditions, this paper aims to draw attention to certain coincidences and aspects related to these rituals and the role of Hephaestion as the king's double to the Persian royal women.
