    Este documento describe de manera general las características de ingreso, tipos, funciones, especificidades y retos de la supervisión escolar en México. Inicia con una breve referencia histórica del surgimiento y primeras leyes que justifican la existencia de esta figura en el siglo XIX y principios del XX, para después hacer una somera caracterización del Sistema Educativo mexicano actual que sirve como referente necesario para comprender la función supervisora en un país diverso y complejo como es este.
