Postural evaluation with artificial intelligence tool for room maids in the tourism sector

    • Introduction: Musculoskeletal disorders represent a global health problem and can negatively impact the health of workers. The objective of the research was: to evaluate postures with artificial intelligence tools in room maids in the tourism sector, the case study is located in the Meliá Varadero hotel.Methods: Consisting of four stages: preparation, identification, evaluation and results, tools such as the Nordic questionnaire and the use of Ergo AI were applied.Results: The Nordic questionnaire showed that the main ailments reported by the room maids were back, wrist/hand, neck, shoulder and forearm/elbow. Applying the Ergo IA software with the evaluation of the REBA method evidenced that in carrying suitcases from the lobby to the room the most affected parts were: back, neck, forearm and legs, in cleaning the room: back, neck and forearm and in making coffee; wrist, neck and forearm.Conclusions: A correlation was made between the perception of musculoskeletal disorders by the worker and the results of the REBA method evaluated in the Ergo IA software, where coincidences in the most affected areas were evidenced.
