    El objetivo general de la investigación fue analizar la transformación hacia fábricas inteligentes: El papel de la IA en la industria 4.0. El método que se desarrolló en la presente investigación, se apoyó en el enfoque cuantitativo, recurriendo a la tipología documental-bibliográfica, lo que permitió establecer el análisis del objeto de estudio. El apoyo documental, consintió en que los argumentos y las afirmaciones se respalden con información sólida y confiable, contribuyendo que los investigadores acceden a información actual y validada por expertos. El material abordado se conformó por tesis de grado, investigaciones científicas, trabajos arbitrados, entre otros. Además, se aplicó el método inductivo-deductivo e igualmente el método analítico-sintético. Se concluye que, la industria 4.0 se ha visto significativamente afectada por las fábricas inteligentes impulsadas por la Inteligencia Artificial (IA). Al automatizar tareas repetitivas y optimizar procesos, la IA ha permitido que las operaciones industriales sean más eficientes y productivas.

    The overall objective of the research was to analyze the transformation towards smart factories: The role of AI in Industry 4.0. The method developed in this research was based on the quantitative approach, resorting to the documentary-bibliographic typology, which allowed the analysis of the object of study to be established. The documentary support allowed the arguments and affirmations to be backed up with solid and reliable information, contributing to the researchers' access to current information validated by experts. The material addressed consisted of degree theses, scientific research, refereed works, among others. In addition, the inductive-deductive method and the analytical-synthetic method were applied. It is concluded that Industry 4.0 has been significantly affected by smart factories driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI). By automating repetitive tasks and optimizing processes, AI has enabled industrial operations to become more efficient and productive.
