    Resumen A partir de imágenes y escrituras de actores del ámbito militar y cultural boliviano relacionados con la Guerra del Chaco, este ensayo explora la imaginación de aquel conflicto. La expresión alegórica, al tener como núcleo las relaciones entre imagen y escritura, se plantea como lente para leer a detalle las encrucijadas que se juegan en las diferentes formas de ver la guerra. Desde los gestos de Froilán Tejerina o Germán Busch hasta las formas escriturales de Hilda Mundy, David Villazón o Jesús Urzagasti, el siguiente ensayo ahonda en los horizontes históricos que operan en y desde estas miradas.

    Abstract Based on images and writings of Bolivian military and cultural actors related to the Chaco War, this essay explores the imagination of that conflict. The allegorical expression, having in its core the relationship between image and writing, is proposed as a lens to read in detail the dilemma at stake in the different ways of seeing the war. From the gestures of Froilan Tejerina or German Busch, to the writing forms of Hilda Mundy, David Villazon or Jesus Urzagasti, the following essay delves into the historical horizons that operate in and from these gazes.
