    Este texto aborda, en primer lugar, la emergencia de la problemática metafilosófica a la que pertenece la pregunta "¿Qué es la filosofía?". Desde la segunda mitad del siglo XX, la metafilosofía se ha desarrollado como una reflexión sobre la propia actividad filosófica, cuestionando sus métodos, objetos y funciones. Su naturaleza autorreflexiva, sin embargo, puede rastrearse hasta Aristóteles. En ese marco se analiza la propuesta metafilosófica de Heidegger, articulada en torno a tres pilares fundamentales: la definición de la historia de la filosofía como historia de la metafísica, el acabamiento de esta en la época moderna y la posibilidad de un nuevo pensar que supere los límites de la tradición filosófica. El análisis de la propuesta heideggeriana lleva a situarla dentro del marco en el que la inseparable relación entre metafilosofía y filosofía blinda la actividad filosófica, pero corre el riesgo de seguir las marcas de una tradición que da por acabada.

    This text deals first of all with the emergence of the metaphilosophical problematic, to which the question ‘What is philosophy’ belongs. Since the second half of the 20th century, metaphilosophy has developed as a reflection on philosophical activity itself, questioning its methods, objects and functions. Its self-reflexive nature, however, can be traced back to Aristotle. Heidegger’s metaphilosophical proposal is analysed within this framework, and is articulated around three fundamental pillars: the definition of the history of philosophy as the history of metaphysics, the end of philosophy in modern times and the possibility of a new way of thinking that goes beyond the limits of the philosophical tradition. The analysis of Heidegger's proposal leads us to situate it within the framework in which the inseparable relationship between metaphilosophy and philosophy shields philosophical activity, but runs the risk of following the marks of a tradition which it considers to be finished.
