This article discusses how the Sentinel Landscape Theory by Boada (2002) can be used to create a socio-eco-pedagogical curriculum connected with scientific research and environmental education. It is a case study of the Montseny UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, which serves as a sentinel to the changing landscapes and is an example of species migration and climate change. This approach promotes ecological literacy in primary and secondary education, enabling students to better understand the impact of environmental change on their ecosystems. The Chestnut Tree Ecological School showcases the practical implementation of these ideas, promoting environmental stewardship and local engagement.
