Resumen de Relações sociais de estudantes surdos na Educação Superior

  This research problematizes the social relations established by deaf students in HigherEducation based on the reports of their collective memories. Therefore, the relations of deafstudents were researched and analyzed through their narratives, in order to understand how theyconstitute their social relations in Higher Education, in the context of the State University ofSouthwest Bahia (UESB). Data were collected through semi-structured interviews in focusgroups, using protocols to direct the themes to be discussed in groups with deaf students. Theywere simultaneously recorded and translated into Sign Language and later into Portuguese.Some categories were analyzed, namely: a) the types of social relationships that deaf studentsbuild; b) educational strategies for establishing these social relationships; and c) the barriers tothe social relationships of deaf people at university. As a result of this analysis, it is clear thatthe deaf establish several relationships with their hearing colleagues, with teachers and withother people at the university, using Libras as a means of communication and also the orallanguage with teachers, colleagues and other professionals. It was seen that the lack ofcommunication makes the social relationships of these university students unfeasible. Theresearch showed that there are challenges that still need to be overcome by the higher educationinstitution so that the inclusive process of deaf students can be carried out and symmetricalsocial relationships between deaf and hearing people established.

  Esta pesquisa problematiza as relações sociais estabelecidas por estudantes surdos na EducaçãoSuperior a partir dos relatos de suas memórias coletivas. Para tanto, foram pesquisadas eanalisadas as relações de estudantes surdos por meio de suas narrativas, a fim de compreendercomo eles constituem as relações sociais na Educação Superior, no contexto da UniversidadeEstadual do Sudoeste da Bahia (UESB). Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevistassemiestruturadas em grupos focais, utilizando protocolos para direcionar os temas a seremdiscutidos nos grupos com os alunos surdos. Elas foram gravadas e traduzidas simultaneamenteem Língua de Sinais e, posteriormente, para a Língua Portuguesa. Algumas categorias foramanalisadas, a saber: a) os tipos de relações sociais que os estudantes surdos constroem; b) asestratégias educacionais para o estabelecimento dessas relações sociais; e c) as barreiras paraas relações sociais dos surdos na universidade. Como resultado dessa análise, percebe-se queos surdos estabelecem diversas relações com os colegas ouvintes, com os professores e com asdemais pessoas na universidade, usando como meio de comunicação a Libras e também alíngua oral com os professores, colegas e demais profissionais. Foi visto que a falta decomunicação inviabiliza as relações sociais desses estudantes universitários. A pesquisamostrou que existem desafios que ainda precisam ser vencidos pela instituição de ensinosuperior para que o processo inclusivo de estudantes surdos seja efetivado e estabelecidasrelações sociais simétricas entre os surdos e ouvintes
