    La actual Jefa de Operaciones Navales (CNO) de la marina estadounidense, la almirante Lisa Franchetti, publicó a finales de septiembre de 2024 su Plan de Navegación.

    Enfocado en la preparación para una posible contienda con la marina del Ejército de Liberación Popular (PLAN) en 2027, el nuevo plan busca resolver los distintos problemas que afectan actualmente a la marina, así como maximizar el rendimiento de todos los engranajes que conformas dicho servicio (personal, capacidades y logística). Sin embargo, frente a un contexto estratégico en el mar cada vez más competitivo, cumplir con éxito los objetivos definidos en el plan requiere unos esfuerzos e inversiones más que notable. Por ello, conviene también situar su publicación en el contexto histórico en el que se encuentra la marina actualmente, analizando sus antecedentes y su proyección de futuro.

    The current U.S. Navy Chief of Naval Operations (CNO), Admiral Lisa Franchetti, published in late September 2024 the new Naval Plan for the Navy. Focused on preparing the Navy for a possible war with the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) by 2027, the new plan seeks to address the different problems currently affecting by the Navy, as well as to maximize the performance of each and every component of the service (manpower, capabilities and logistics). However, in the midst of an increasingly competitive and challenging maritime environment, successfully achieving the goals set forth in the new plan will require notable effort and dedication. In light of this, it is convenient to put into perspective the place where the Navy stands today, examining its antecedents and its future projection.
