La importancia de la financiación del terrorismo en relación con la actividad llevada a cabo por el yihadismo

    Una parte fundamental de la actividad desarrollada por los diversos tipos de terrorismo existentes está relacionada con la obtención de los fondos necesarios para financiar su funcionamiento.

    Esta cuestión es especialmente relevante respecto al yihadismo por su creciente descentralización, la cual le ha llevado a tener una estructura en la que podemos encontrar tres círculos conformados por organizaciones, grupos e individuos que, de una u otra forma, colaboran con el yihadismo y presentan diversas necesidades de financiación.

    Organizaciones como Dáesh, que ha mantenido un control territorial sobre extensas zonas de Siria e Irak, han recurrido a procedimientos de financiación diferentes y más complejos que los empleados por parte de aquellos individuos que, de forma más o menos autónoma, buscan colaborar en Occidente con la causa del yihadismo.

    Por último, cabe señalar que a esto se ha de añadir el creciente empleo que vienen haciendo de las opciones de obtención y canalización de fondos que ofrecen Internet y las redes sociales.

    A fundamental part of the activity carried out by the various types of existing terrorism is related to obtaining the necessary funds to finance their operation.

    This issue is especially relevant with respect to jihadism due to its growing decentralization, which has led it to have a structure in which we can find three circles made up of organizations, groups and individuals that, in one way or another, collaborate with jihadism and present various financing needs.

    Organizations such as Dáesh, which has maintained territorial control over extensive areas of Syria and Iraq, have resorted to different and more complex financing procedures than those used by those individuals who, more or less autonomously, seek to collaborate in the West with the cause of jihadism.

    Finally, it should be noted that to this must be added the growing use of the options for obtaining and channeling funds offered by the Internet and social networks.
