    Tras dos décadas al frente del país, el primer ministro Lee Hsien Loong anunció que iba a entregar el puesto a su sucesor Lawrence Wong. Este comunicado puso fin a varios años de especulaciones sobre la sucesión del primer ministro que habían generado una inestabilidad inusual en la política singapurense. La sucesión de Lee supondrá la cesión del testigo a la cuarta generación de cuadros dirigentes del PAP. Este cambio generacional tiene lugar en una coyuntura compleja tanto a nivel interno como a nivel externo que va a presentar notables desafíos para la ciudad-Estado.

    After two decades at the helm of the country, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced that he was handing over the prime minister's post to his successor Lawrence Wong. This announcement ended several years of speculation about the prime minister's succession that had generated unusual instability in Singaporean politics. Lee Hsien Loong will hand over the baton to the fourth generation of PAP leaders. This generational change is taking place at a complex juncture both internally and externally, which will present significant challenges for the city-state.
