    Este trabalho investiga e compara as diferentes visões de mundo entre os antigos e os modernos, usando o recorte proposto por Camus em alguns ensaios que têm a Grécia clássica como assunto. Os Gregos lutaram por Helena ao passo que os modernos a exilaram. Tamanha mudança de postura entre antigos e modernos é explicada a partir da comparação entre alguns personagens míticos – Sísifo, Prometeu e Odisseu – que expõem, por um lado, impiedade e revolta, por outro, fidelidade à raça dos mortais e à beleza terrena, representada por Helena.

    This work compares the different views of the world between the Ancients and the Moderns, using the approach proposed by Camus in some essays that have classical Greece as a subject. The Greeks fought for Helen while the moderns exiled her. Such a change in attitude between the Ancients and the Moderns is explained by comparing some mythical characters hand, impiety and revolt, and on the other hand, fidelity to the race of mortals and to earthly beauty, represented by Helena.
