    Diagnóstico socioeconómico de 33 comunidades cafetaleras, de tres municipios fronterizos del estado de Chiapas. Se levantaron 33 encuestas comunitarias, realizadas in situ, en asambleas comunitarias, en los años 1984 y 1985, complementado con investigación participante y el diario de campo. Empleándose para el procesamiento de la información los programas SPSS V.21 y Excel. Se identificaron características generales de la frontera sur de México, inmersas en condiciones de alta vulnerabilidad social y pobreza, aunado a un alto nivel de politización social, observándose además la importancia de la cafeticultura en el desarrollo de esta región y la carencia de la participación institucional

    Socioeconomic diagnosis of 33 coffee-growing communities, in three border municipalities of the state of Chiapas. 33 community surveys were carried out, carried out in situ, in community assemblies, in the years 1984 and 1985, complemented with participant research and the field diary. The SPSS V.21 and Excel programs were used for information processing. General characteristics of the southern border of Mexico were identified, immersed in conditions of high social vulnerability and poverty, coupled with a high level of social politicization, also observing the importance of coffee growing in the development of this region and the lack of institutional participation.
