    En este artículo tomamos la protesta estudiantil de 2015 y 2016 #AfrikaansMustFall de las Universidades de Stellenbosch y Pretoria y los debates en torno a la descolonización en educación superior en Sudáfrica para observar la importancia de discutir las políticas lingüísticas en ese nivel educativo. Exploraremos la protesta #AfrikaansMustFall como una acción de gestión de lenguas (Spolsky, 2004) desde su hashtag a través de etnografía digital (Hine, 2004) para rastrear lo sucedido con las protestas estudiantiles y el rol de las redes sociales para la discusión y posterior modific a política lingüística universitaria.

    In this article, we take the 2015 and 2016 #AfrikaansMustFall student protest at the Universities of Stellenbosch and Pretoria and the debates around decolonization in higher education in South Africa to look at the importance of discussing language policies at that educational level. We will explore the #AfrikaansMustFall protest as an action of language management (Spolsky, 2004) from its hashtag through digital ethnography (Hine, 2004) to trace what happened with the student protests and the role of social networks for the discussion and subsequent modification of the university linguistic policy.
