Bate-papo intergeracional na Internet. Sexo, agressão e realidade virtual

  • Há um espaço na rede virtual representado pelos que buscam uma interlocução nas salas de bate-papos da faixa etária de 50 anos e mais. Num estudo exploratório, que ora iniciamos, interagimos com os demais componentes da sala. Parte significativa dos que a freqüentam regularmente estão nas faixas entre 20 e 40 anos e buscam contatos com gerações mais velhas. Detectamos, entre pessoas da mesma geração, uma interação compatível com a faixa etária da sala e de intercâmbio intergeracional, que ora expressa uma relação amistosa e ora revela os preconceitos que marcam o envelhecimento,principalmente por parte dos jovens. Pressupomos ser a sala de bate-papo virtual dos 50 anos e mais um espaço de sociabilidade inter e intra gerações. A partir desta realidade, pretendemos, neste artigo, levantar algumas considerações sobre a relatividade da representação da velhice, a reatualização de determinadas imagens de velhos e velhas, que dizem respeito à sexualidade e ao corpo, e examinar este ambiente como um espaço de sociabilidade inter e intra geracional.AbstractA space exists in the Internet represented by people who wish to join the virtual chat rooms of the 50-plus age groups. We are starting an exploratory study in which we interact with other room members. A significant number of the regular clients belong to the 20-40 years age group; they seek contact with the older generations. We detected, among people of the same age group, an interaction suited to the age group of the room, and also an intergenerational interchange alternating between the expression of a friendly relationship and the implication of a prejudiced attitude towards ageing, chiefly on the part of the young. We assume that the 50-plus age group virtual chat room is intended for inter and intragenerational sociability. Taking this reality for granted, we intend to present in this article some comments on the relativity of the portrayal of old age, on the re-updating of the images of old people (men and women) regarding sexuality and the body, and to examine this milieu as a space for inter andintragenerational sociability.
