    En el contexto del siglo XVI es preciso destacar a una mujer, María Pita, que no solo supo librar a su ciudad y a su país del asedio inglés, sino también relacionarse con la Corte, trasladándose desde La Coruña a Madrid y residiendo, en la capital, durante varios períodos, para solicitar justicia y, mercedes de S.M., desafiando todas las dificultades burocráticas, orográficas e inclemencias de un largo y tortuoso camino vivencial, no falto de dificultades, entre La Coruña y Madrid, por la defensa de los derechos de sus hijos y de las mujeres.

    In the context of the sixteenth century, it is necessary to highlight a woman, María Pita, who not only knew how to free her city and her country from the English siege, but also to relate to the Court, moving from La Coruña to Madrid and residing in the capital for several periods, to request justice and favors from His Majesty, defying all the diffi culties, bureaucratic, orographic and inclemency of a long and tortuous experiential road, not without diffi culties, between La Coruña and Madrid, for the defense of the rights of his children and women.
