The objective of this article is to investigate how a culture of peace can contribute to the quality of life of people with disabilities, considering their stigmatized identity, amid social repression and ableism, presented as a form of cultural and structural violence. The methodological procedure was based on a review of national and international bibliographic review and data provided by the United Nations (UN) and other official bodies. The hypothetical-deductive method was adopted, based on national laws and standards. The deduction occurs through the search for supports that situate the conflicts and hypotheses that arise from existing expectations and  theories.
