    : Christus magazine consists of a Jesuit periodical of great longevity (from 1935 to the present) and of great importance for a portion of the Mexican Catholic intellectuals, having been founded as an organ connected with the episcopal official of the country, with the purpose of priestly orientation in a turbulent moment of persecution and friction between the Catholic Church and the Mexican State. However, throughout the focus here (1968- 1973), we analyzed sociopolitical ideas defended by its editorial line that marked a period in which occurred the began of the distancing between a Jesuit sector linked to Liberation Theology and the episcopal hierarchies and of the Mexican Society of Jesus.

    A revista Christus consiste em um periódico jesuítico de grande longevidade (de 1935 até a atualidade) e suma importância para uma parcela da intelectualidade católica mexicana, tendo sido fundado como um órgão ligado à oficialidade episcopal do país, no intuito de orientação sacerdotal em um momento turbulento, de perseguições e atritos entre a Igreja católica e o Estado mexicano, todavia, ao longo do recorte aqui focado (1968-1973), analisamos ideias sociopolíticas defendidas por sua linha editorial que marcaram um período no qual se iniciou o distanciamento entre um setor jesuítico ligado à Teologia da Libertação e as hierarquias episcopal e da Companhia de Jesus mexicana.
