    O presente artigo propõe analisar um ato oficial da Coroa portuguesa, o Alvará com Força de Lei publicado em 24 de fevereiro de 1764. Este documento buscava alterar as formas de recrutamento para as Tropas Regulares, uma das três forças que compunham a esfera militar do Império Português no período. Além destas novas determinações da Coroa, ainda destacaremos neste texto, entre os artigos do Alvará, as preocupações em delimitar o perfil dos recrutas que ocupariam esta força militar, bem como a existência de estratégias utilizadas por homens em idade militar de se eximir de sentar-praça.

    This article proposes to analyze an official act of the Portuguese Crown, the Law Enforcement Permit published on February 24, 1764. This document sought to reform the forms of recruitment for the Regular Troops, one of the three forces that made up the military sphere of the Portuguese Empire in the period. Besides these new determinations of the Crown, we will also highlight in this text, among the articles of the Permit, the concerns to define the profile of the recruits that would occupy this military force, as well as the existence of strategies used by men of military age to refrain from being conscripted.
