    El artículo analiza información acerca de la vida sexual de adult@s heterosexuales de las ciudades de Colima y Guadalajara generada por la Encuesta sobre Intimidad y Relaciones de Pareja en Colima y Guadalajara (EIRP, 2021). El interés es descubrir quiénes tienen vida sexual, los motivos para no tenerla, así como contrastar las prácticas sexuales reales de las personas con las que desean tener, considerando que esa tensión se enmarca dentro de las limitaciones estructurales marcadas tanto por las condiciones materiales de vida como por los recursos simbólicos disponibles que permiten imaginar posibilidades y movilizar su capacidad de agencia.

    This article analyzes information about the sex lives of heterosexual men and women in the cities of Colima and Guadalajara arising from the Survey about Intimacy and Couple Relations in Colima and Guadalajara (EIRP, 2021). The aim is to discover who has a sex life, the reasons for not having one, and contrasting people’s real sexual practices from those they would want to have, considering that this tension is framed within the structural limitations marked both by material living conditions and by the symbolic resources available to them that allow them to imagine possibilities and to use their agency.
