This research focused on analyzing and optimizing investment portfolios in the technology and health sectors over a five-year period, using the Markowitz model. To do so, historical data on the shares of companies listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange in both sectors were used. When comparing the results, it was observed that the health sector offers greater stability and lower risks, while the technology sector presents high-yield opportunities, but with greater volatility. Investors should consider their financial objectives and risk tolerance when selecting portfolios in these sectors. The application of the Markowitz model allows for the construction of portfolios that optimize the balance between risk and return, adapting to the particularities of each sector.
