    A partir de 1955 el protagonismo tomado por Ricardo Caillet-Bois en la disciplina histórica fue significativo. Su rol como director del Instituto de Investigaciones Históricas le confirió un papel simbólico en las disputas por la construcción del pasado nacional y en las discusiones metodológicas que sugería la carrera. Esta coyuntura se mezcló con otras dos: la producción e investigación en torno a Malvinas, y los acercamientos con los oficialismos post 1955. El presente artículo examinará los aportes e iniciativas presentadas por Caillet-Bois como integrante de una corriente historiográfica sobre el tema Malvinas y sus posicionamientos al respecto.

    Starting in 1955, the prominence taken by Ricardo Caillet-Bois in the historical discipline was significant. His role as director of the Historical Research Institute gave him a symbolic role in the disputes over the construction of the national past and in the methodological discussions that the career suggested. This situation was mixed with two others: the production and research around the Malvinas, and the rapprochements with the ruling parties after 1955. This article will examine the contributions and initiatives presented by Caillet-Bois as a member of a historiographical current on the subject of the Malvinas and their positions on the matter.
