Livro e sua perspectiva cultural durante o medievo: uma aproximação

    In this article, we would like to address to a book culture during the Middle Ages. To carry it out, we analyzed some documents of chancery about the first objects of the textual tradition of Book of Deeds by King James I of Aragon, composed between 1313 and 1386, in order to discover informations about the cultural perspective of the book, such as dynasty interest, legitimacy, materialization of the book, and oral diffusion. According to the informations founded and analyzed, we concluded that the book was used as not only an object of the support of the political thought, but also as a political and cultural object of power, and consequently as an instrument of the medieval political culture.

    Neste artigo, desejamos aproximar-nos a uma possível cultura do livro durante o medievo. Para realizar tal tarefa, analisamos alguns documentos de chancelaria relativos aos primeiros objetos da tradição textual do Livro dos Feitos do rei Jaime I de Aragão, entre os anos 1313 e 1386, através dos quais buscamos diversas informações a respeito da perspectiva cultural do livro, tais como interesse da dinastia, legitimidade, materialização do livro e difusão oral. Diante das informações encontradas e analisadas, concluímos que o livro foi utilizado não somente como um objeto de transporte do pensamento político, mas também foi considerado um objeto de poder político e cultural, sendo, portanto, um instrumento da cultura política medieval.
