Resumen de Bicentenario del Trienio Liberal: de revolución fracasada a revolución derrotada y reprimida

El Bicentenario de Trienio Liberal ha estimulado la celebración de encuentros, seminarios y congresos y la publicación de multitud de artículos, dosieres y monografías sobre estos intensos años que configuraron la España y la América contemporáneas. Las nuevas aportaciones historiográficas mejoran ostensiblemente el conocimiento y la interpretación del Trienio Liberal y plantean nuevas líneas de investigación. En cambio, ha sido mucho menor la actividad de transferencia a la sociedad del conocimiento historiográfico generado en parte debido a que la administración, en general y a diferencia del de la Guerra de la Independencia, ha estado ausente del Bicentenario. En cualquier caso, las nuevas aportaciones nos permiten desmentir definitivamente la visión del Trienio Liberal como una “revolución fracasada” e interpretarla como una “revolución profunda reprimida”.

The bicentennial of the Liberal Triennium has featured meetings, seminars and conferences resulting in the publication of a multitude of articles, dossiers and monographs addressing these intense years that shaped contemporary Spain and the Americas. These new histo-riographical contributions have significantly improved our knowledge and deepened our interpretations of the Liberal Triennium while suggesting new lines of research. All the same, less effort has been dedi-cated to the transfer of historiographic knowledge to society. This is, in part, because the state administration has been absent from these bicentennial activities, a posture that stands in sharp contrast to those of the War of Independence. In any case, the new contributions de-finitively refute the vision of the Liberal Triennium as a «failed revolu-tion», and interpret it as a «deep and repressed revolution».
