Resumen
Introduction: methodology is a system that relates procedures, actions, means and techniques in a logical process. Objective: to validate through a pre-experiment the proposal of a methodology for the training of the Patient Safety Management competency in intensive care. Method: qualitative – quantitative research at the Guantánamo University of Medical Sciences in the 2017-2018 school year. Scientific methods of bibliographic analysis and synthesis were assumed. A post-test type pre-experiment was carried out, with two groups (one control and one experimental). In this way, the experimental group was made up of 12 students and the control group was made up of 41, which constituted the population under study. To measure the variable level of training of the professional competence Management of the safety of the sick person in intensive care, the cognitive, procedural and attitudinal dimensions and indicators were considered and classified into the following categories: adequate, not very suitable, inadequate. Result: 70% of the students in the control group presented a level of competency training classified as inadequate, while in the experimental group, 83% presented an adequate level. Conclusions: the results of the validation process allow us to conclude the validity and relevance of the proposed methodology.
