  This text has as objective to present some reflections about the space distribution of the health services in the city of Montes Claros, in the period from 1982 to 2002, being its reference an analysis of the relationship that can be established between health and urban space. Following this line of thought, it is searched the comprehension of the recent territorial transformations that are happening in the urban area of Montes Claros.

  O presente texto tem por objetivo apresentar algumas reflexões sobre a distribuição espacial dos serviços de saúde na cidade de Montes Claros, no período de 1982 a 2002, tendo como referência uma análise da relação que pode ser estabelecida entre saúde e espaço urbano. Nessa linha de raciocínio, busca-se compreensão das transformações territoriais recentes que estão ocorrendo na área urbana de Montes Claros.
