    El Archivo General Insular de Fuerteventura se creó de facto en 1982, año en que se comenzó a trabajar en la creación y consolidación de esta institución de archivo de forma continuada. Oficialmente fue instituido mediante acuerdo plenario del Cabildo de Fuerteventura de 27 de julio de 1990, y hasta la actualidad ha tenido varias sedes, todas en Puerto del Rosario: la primera en la calle Virgen del Rosario, número 11, actual Casa Museo Unamuno; la segunda en la calle San Roque, número 16, y la definitiva en la calle Antonio Espinosa, número 28, en el edificio construido expresamente para Archivo General Insular. Esta institución, desde 1982 y hasta la actualidad, ha ido recogiendo y gestionando numerosos fondos y colecciones documentales de distinta naturaleza y considera-ción. La finalidad de este artículo es divulgar el conjunto de fondos documentales ingresados en el Archivo General Insular hasta la actualidad.

    The General Archive of Fuerteventura was created in 1982, when work began on the creation and consolidation of this archive institution on an ongoing basis. It was officially established by a plenary agreement of the Ca-bildo of Fuerteventura on 27 July 1990 and has had several headquarters to date, all in Puerto del Rosario: the first at 11st Virgen del Rosario Street, which currently is home to the Unamuno Museum. The second headquarter was at 16st San Roque Street, and the final one at 28st Antonio Espinosa Street, in a building expressly built for the archive. Since 1982 and up to the present, this institution has been collecting and managing numerous documentary funds and collections of different nature and importance. The purpose of this article is to disseminate the set of documentary funds entered into the General Archive of Fuerteventura.
