    Las Guerras Astur Cántabras representan uno de los últimos episodios de resistencia indígena frente a la expansión del Imperio Romano en la Península Ibérica. Estas campañas, lideradas en un primer momento por el emperador Augusto, no solo constituyen un hito militar en la consolidación del dominio romano en Hispania, sino que también reflejan la complejidad de los conflictos entre las legiones romanas y las tribus cántabras y astures, cuyas estrategias guerrilleras y profundo conocimiento del territorio dificultaron la rápida victoria romana. El análisis de estas guerras permite comprender mejor la transición política, económica y militar en el noroeste de la península.

    The Asturian-Cantabrian wars posed one of the last episodes of indigenous resistance to the expansion of the Roman Empire in the Iberian Peninsula. These campaigns, led by Emperor Augustus at the beginning, were not only a military milestone in the consolidation of the Roman domains in Hispania, but they also represent the complexity of the conflicts between the Roman legions and the Cantabrian and Asturian tribes, whose guerrilla strategies and deep knowledge of the land hampered a quick Roman victory. The analysis of these wars allows us to better understand the political, economic, and military transition in the northwest of the peninsula.
