    El edificio del Maristán fue reformado a finales del siglo XV para albergar la Real Casa de la Moneda de Granada. La excavación arqueológica asociada a la fase 1 de consolidación y restauración del pórtico sur ha permitido identificar y estudiar las transformaciones del hospital islámico para su adaptación en espacio fabril entre 1497 y 1685. Destaca la recuperación de los hornos de fundición, la identificación de la «sala del Tesoro» y la reordenación de las antiguas celdas asistenciales. A finales del siglo XVII cesó su actividad y de nuevo fue reformado para darle nuevos usos.

    The building of the Maristán was renovated in the late 15th century to house the Real Casa de la Moneda (Royal Mint of Granada). The archaeological excavation associated with Phase I of the consolidation and restoration of the southern portico has made it possible to identify and study the transformations of the Islamic hospital for its adaptation into a manu-facturing space between 1497 and 1685. Particularly noteworthy is the recovery of the smelting furnaces, the identification of the Treasure Hall and the rearrangement of the former care cells. At the end of the 17th century, it ceased its activity and was again renovated for new uses.
