This article presents the problem of the unity of reason in the Kantian system and the solution given by Kant, in the Critique of the power of judgment, through beauty as a symbol of morality. Later on, the objective is to find out if Kant is able to solve the problem of the impassable gap between the domains of nature and freedom, showing, then, through the text “The oldest systematic program of german idealism” as the Kantian answer prepares the ground for late 18th century German philosophy.

Este artigo apresenta o problema da unidade da razão no sistema kantiano e a solução dada por Kant, na Crítica da faculdade do juízo, através da beleza como símbolo da moralidade. Objetiva-se, posteriormente, averiguar se Kant consegue resolver o problema do abismo intransponível entre os domínios da natureza e da liberdade, mostrando, a seguir, através do texto “O mais antigo programa de sistema do idealismo alemão”, como a resposta kantiana prepara o terreno para a filosofia alemã do final do século XVIII.
