  • This paper is aimed at the study of autism, particularly Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The term autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) has been used to include the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition, Text Revision (DSM-IV-TR), diagnostic categories autistic disorder and pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified (recent estimates of the prevalence of ASDs are in the range of 6.5 to 6.6 per 1000), a syndrome that seriously affects the development of children. It results in severe restrictions to education and social integration, yet the level of incapacity varies greatly from person to person, depending on the quality of the educational intervention. Consequently, we will attempt to use a scientific study, in order to decrease those difficulties, specifically through the use of symbolic game.

    One of the most complex aspects found both in interventions, as well as in investigation, in students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) is having reliable and trustworthy instruments, for a focused assessment that can be directed to psychoeducational intervention.

    With this analysis, we will then evaluate the effectiveness of symbolic game and its dimensions.
