Since 2007 and the economic meltdown caused by the financial crisis, the world faces huge challenges. In Europe, the 2017 Eurobarometer highlights some of the European citizens’ concerns. A majority of respondents think that the life of today’s children will be more difficult than the life of those from their own generation. At the same time, reducing inequality and social exclusion, protecting the environment, progress and innovation, harmonizing education and social welfare systems and migration policies are some of the issues Europe should address by 2030. Unfortunately, this is not a perfect world. For that reason new ideas, strategies and interdisciplinary research are needed for overcoming all these problems. Conducting research based on of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods designs, researchers from a wide range of disciplines have been looking for solutions. Now it is time make a side stop on the way and to gather results. The 2nd International SBRLab Conference, Finding solutions to societal problems, is organized by the Social and Business Research Lab (SBRLab), Universitat Rovira i Virgili. It is as an international and virtual meeting point of interdisciplinary research and researchers. Its main purpose is to bring together researchers from management, economics, political, social and legal disciplines in order to present and discuss new trends in their respective fields.
