Resumen de La Acreditación de la Educación Universitaria en Chile

El presente trabajo tiene como propósito realizar una presentación respecto de la situación presente en torno al tema de la Evaluación y Acreditación de la Educación Superior en Chile, se considera la nueva legislación que se está desarrollando al respecto, como también de la experiencia acumulada en algunas instituciones en las cuales se está llevando a cabo este proceso. También se tiene en cuenta la gran experiencia desarrollada internacionalmente, como es el caso de EE.UU., base sobre la cual se construye nuestro sistema de acreditación. Para terminar se expondrán, ajuicio del autor, las debilidades y fortalezas de este sistema en Chile, y los desafíos que se presentan en el futuro.

The present work intends to give a presentation with respect towards the current situation dealing with the Evaluation andAccreditation in Chile of Superior Education. This work considers the new legislation that is being developed related to this matter, as well as the accumulated experience in some institutions in which the process is being carried out. This paper also considers the experience developed internationally, as is the case of the United States, which serves as a modelan which our system of accreditation is currently being constructed. Finally, this paper will present, in the opinion of this author, the weaknesses and strengths ofthe current system in Chile, and the challenges thatwill appear in the future.
