    La endocarditis infecciosa (EI) es una enfermedad grave, con una presentación clínica variada, y al igual que otras enfermedades se puede prevenir, por lo que esta investigación tuvo como objetivo la implementación de charlas educativas encaminadas a la prevención de la EI. Se realizó en el municipio Manzanillo, Reparto Vázquez, en el periodo comprendido entre enero 2017 - diciembre 2017. Con la realización de las charlas educativas se logró que 50 personas adultas, que conforman el 100% de las personas investigadas en la muestra, tuvieran mayor percepción del riesgo, conocieran las formas en que pueden proteger su salud, y por tanto, lograr la prevención de la EI. Esta investigación tiene importancia, porque le concede gran valor a la prevención de dicha enfermedad, desde la participación como entes activos de todas aquellas personas que poseen vulnerabilidad para padecer de EI. Se concluye que al realizar una labor preventiva con personas proclives a padecer endocarditis infecciosa se está contribuyendo a elevar la calidad de vida.

    Infective endocarditis (IE) is a serious disease, with a varied clinical presentation, and like other diseases it can be prevented, so this research had the objective of implementing educational talks aimed at the prevention of EI. It was carried out in the municipality of Manzanillo, Reparto Vázquez, in the period between (january 2017- december 2017). With the realization of educational talks, 50 adult people, who make up 100% of the people investigated in the sample, had a greater perception of risk, knew the ways in which they can protect their health and therefore achieve the prevention of EI. This research is very important, because it gives great value to the prevention of this disease, from the participation as active entities of all those people who have vulnerability to suffer from EI. It is concluded that by performing preventive work with people prone to suffer infectious endocarditis is helping to raise the quality of life.
