Contro la totale mercificazione dell’arte: la funzione dell’estetica moderna

  • Riassunto: Considerare le immagini come testimonianza equivale a vederle come il luogo diuna tensione sempre irrisolta tra memoria e oblio, dove l’oblio è il limite interno diogni nostra rammemorazione e, insieme, la condizione che la rende possibile. In talsenso, se è vero che la consapevolezza del dover-essere della memoria è un compitoetico che non si può non assumere, nel momento in cui si tenta di dare un senso alpassato, facendocene una rappresentazione e in questo modo riconfigurandolo a partiredalle esigenze del presente, è anche vero che una tale consapevolezza non può nonimplicare, nello stesso tempo, il riconoscimento della necessità dell’oblio. Soltanto l’oblioè in grado di produrre quell’innovazione che è espressione della creatività umana,vale a dire della nostra capacità inventiva e costruttiva, e che tuttavia può realizzarsisempre e solo sullo sfondo di una tradizione già data e strutturata. Abstract: Considering the images as witness equates to watch them as the place of an alwaysnon resolved tension between memory and oblivion, where the oblivion is the internaledge of any remembrance and, at the same time, the condition which makes it possible.In this sense, if it is true that the awareness of the «it must be» of the memory is anethical duty which could not be not assumed. At the moment in which it is tried togive any sense to the past, making a representation of it and so reconfiguring it fromthe exigencies of the present it is also truth which such an awareness cannot give upimplying the recognition of the necessity of the oblivion. Only the oblivion shouldproduce that innovation which is an expression of the human creativity, i. e. of our inventive and constructive, and which can be yet achieved only in front of a given andstructured tradition.
