En este artículo se estudia la configuración dramática del demonio en tres comedias de Agustín Moreto, Los siete durmientes (1651) El más ilustre francés, San Bernardo (1657) y El azote de su patria (1669). El objetivo fundamental es analizar no sólo la fuerza escénica de un personaje tan versátil y cargado de posibilidades teatrales y artísticas como es la figura demoníaca, sino también su valor estructural dentro del conflicto y su influencia decisiva en la acción incluso cuando no está presente

In this paper, we analyze the dramatic configuration of the devil in three plays by Agustín Moreto: Los sietedurmientes (1651), El más ilustre francés, San Bernardo (1657) y El azote de su patria (1669). Our main objective is not only the study of the stage power displayed by a character with such a wide range of theatrical and artistic possibilities, but also his structural role in the conflict and his decisive influence on the action even when he is not actually present.
