Resumen de Género, educación Y la posibilidad De un conocimiento Transformativo

Este artículo realiza una reflexión sobre el lugar que ocupa el género dentro de los sistemas educativos, especialmente en su relación con las políticas públicas en educación.
Muestra las dificultades existentes para el desarrollo de políticas equitativas, habida cuenta de que la educación posee un carácter más distributivo que re-distributivo en términos de los ingresos, de tal manera que resolver la inequidad social por medio de la educación es relativamente poco efectivo. Sin embargo, el reto podría estar en la educación transformativa, entendida como aquella educación que proporciona un conocimiento que hace tomar conciencia de las inequidades sociales y de género, y permite a los individuos organizarse en busca de una transformación social progresiva.

This article shows a reflection about the place of gender within educational systems, especially in its relations to public policies in education. It also shows the current difficulties for developing equity policies, due to the more distributive than redistributive character of education, in terms of incoming. Because of this, to find a solution to social inequity by educating is not effective at all. However, the challenge would be in transformative education, understood as such education that brings a knowledge that makes people conscious of social and gender inequities, and therefore, enables them to organize themselves in the search of a progressive social transformation.
