    La vasta obra de Herbert Read (1893-1968) sigue siendo objeto de estudio, difusión y debate, pero aún es muy poco lo que puede localizarse en nuestra lengua que describa la trayectoria vital y el legado de pensamiento de este personaje, quien sin duda fue autor de primera importancia en el anarquismo del siglo XX. Para ir superando esa carencia se expone un recuento biográfico de Read, insistiendo en los hitos fundamentales de su evolución intelectual, donde destaca la inequívoca filiación libertaria expresada claramente en una importante producción escrita que conserva hoy agudeza e interés. Además, se presenta una lista preliminar de la bibliografía de este pensador inglés publicada en castellano.

    The vast Works of Herbert Read (1893-1968) remain the object of study, publication and debate, but there is still very little to be found in Spanish that describes the important steps in his career or delves into the legacy of thought of this man, who, without doubt was an author of great importance in 20th. century anarchism. To fill this gap we present a biographical account of his life, stressing the milestones of his intellectual growth, where, above all, his unequivocal libertarian affiliations stand out and are clearly expressed throughout his writings which today remain sharp and of great interest. In addition, we provide a preliminary list of the bibliography of this English thinker available in Spanish.
