Abstract
The Festiva Trompa entered the Hispanic Society in 1902 when Archer M. Huntington purchased the library of the marqués de Jerez de los Caballeros. Huntington created the Hispanic Society as a library and museum devoted to Spanish and Latin American culture in the broadest sense. The distinctive institution comprises a monument to Huntington¿s remarkable vision which included not only fine arts but also decorative arts, photographs, literature, and archival materials. Within this encyclopedic collection, Andalusia occupies an important part, which reflects Huntington¿s love for the region and the considerable aid he received from José Gestoso in this regard.
